Rocky Mountain Education Design is hosting a 5-hour Classroom Coding and Standards-Based Robotics with Edison Teacher Professional Development Workshop at the Lafayette Public Library, in Lafayette Colorado, on Friday January 18th 2019, 10:30 to 4:00. Developed in collaboration with Edison Robotics, this workshop introduces participants to the low-cost, dynamic Edison Robot, drag-and-drop programming for elementary and middle schools using the new EdScratch coding language, Lego-based engineering and design thinking projects, and Edison’s complete set of resources and teaching guides for K-12 learning.
Participants will:
- Write code, program robots, troubleshoot, and complete design challenges
- Conduct math and science standards-based experiments and inquires
- Collaborate and scaffold their own lesson plans based on program resources
- Try EdBlocks and EdPy Python coding, or Lego-based innovation projects


Program Logistics and Registration:
The Audience for this workshop can include elementary, secondary and pre-service teachers, school and program administrators, librarians, technologists, and other service providers.
